Brand Story

Why These Books Exist

David Phung’s career began not at a writing desk, but in the rooms where families and business owners were forced to make high-stakes decisions with too little information — signing insurance policies they didn’t fully understand, delaying estate plans until it was almost too late, or discovering too late that a single overlooked gap in coverage could undo years of careful work.

"The people I worked with weren't uninformed. They were underserved by information that was never written for them in the first place."

That observation became the founding premise of every book in this collection. Rather than writing for other professionals, David writes for the reader standing at the actual decision: the new landlord, the parent buying their first life insurance policy, the adult child trying to have an impossible conversation with an aging parent. Each title draws on real casework, contributions from specialists across medicine, law, and finance, and a conviction that protection only works if people actually understand what they’re protecting.

What started as a single guide to commercial insurance has grown into a twelve-book library spanning risk management, estate planning, family wellbeing, and everyday safety — recognized in 2025 at the LA Times Festival of Books, and built one practical, plain-language answer at a time.

Writing Philosophy

Three Principles Behind Every Book

01

Clarity Over Complexity

If a concept can’t be explained without jargon, it hasn’t been explained well enough yet. Every chapter is written to be understood on a first read, by a reader with no background in the subject.

02

Preparation Over Panic

Fear sells, but it doesn’t protect anyone. These books are built around calm, practical frameworks that turn awareness into habit and planning into action, long before a crisis forces the issue.

03

People Over Policies

A policy, a trust, or a safety habit is only ever a means to an end — protecting the people who depend on you. Every book keeps that person, not the paperwork, at the center of the page.

Mission Statement

To give every reader the clarity, confidence, and practical tools to protect what matters most — before life asks them to.
